Empower My Education Inc. (E.M.E.) began with a vision of expanding educational opportunity for children who too often face barriers because of where they live or their families’ financial circumstances.

From its beginnings in Austin, Texas, E.M.E. has grown from a grassroots effort focused on educational access, health, fitness, and youth development into a nonprofit organization providing structured educational and wellness programs for children, youth, and families.

Throughout that growth, one principle has remained constant: lasting change happens when children and families are given equitable access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive.

The organization was established in Texas in 2015 under the legal name Entitle Me Inc.

Its founding vision centered on providing scholarships for underserved children to attend high-quality childcare programs in Austin, Texas—settings that could otherwise be out of reach because of financial barriers.

The goal was to help ensure that children from marginalized and underserved families could benefit from the same educational resources, enrichment, structured learning, and developmental opportunities available to children in more affluent communities.

Milestone: Organization established in Texas with a focus on increasing access to high-quality educational and developmental opportunities for underserved children.

E.M.E.'s work grew beyond educational access to include community-based health and fitness programs designed to strengthen self-confidence, encourage positive behavior, promote physical wellness, and nurture self-worth among children and youth.

Through this work, the organization recognized that meaningful empowerment requires more than addressing a single area of a child's life.

Education, physical health, nutrition, hygiene, family support, confidence, and access to opportunity are interconnected.

Before the organization's formal legal name change, Empower My Education was already being used as the organization's DBA and public-facing identity.

On August 8, 2025, the legal corporate name was formally changed from Entitle Me Inc. to Empower My Education Inc.

The change did not represent the beginning of Empower My Education's work. Instead, it aligned the organization's official legal identity with the name, mission, and direction it had already developed.

During 2025, Empower My Education continued strengthening the organizational systems needed to support responsible growth and long-term impact.

This included strengthening:

This approach helps ensure that programs are developed with communities rather than simply for them, while allowing each relationship to reflect the unique needs, priorities, and strengths of the community involved.

Milestone: E.M.E. expands its network of community and organizational relationships across the United States and internationally.

While E.M.E. developed relationships across several countries in 2026, Somalia became the location of the organization's first structured international pilot program.

E.M.E. began working with Somali organizations, schools, community stakeholders, volunteers, and local leaders to develop programming informed by local needs and implemented through collaboration.

Somalia's pilot represents an important step in E.M.E.'s growth because it moves the organization from international relationship-building into structured international program implementation.

The pilot is intended to provide a measurable foundation that can help E.M.E. evaluate its approach, strengthen systems, document outcomes, and responsibly plan for future programming.

Milestone: Somalia selected as the location for E.M.E.'s first structured international pilot program.

Empower My Education developed a structured Health & Hygiene Pilot Program in Somalia focused on supporting children through essential hygiene resources, practical health education, and community engagement.

The pilot framework includes:

• Health and hygiene education
• Transparent procurement procedures
• Distribution documentation
• Monitoring and evaluation
• Post-distribution monitoring

The pilot is designed to do more than provide immediate assistance.

It will also help E.M.E. establish clear procedures for program implementation, financial accountability, documentation, monitoring, evaluation, and collaboration with local partners.

Lessons from the Somalia pilot will help inform the development and responsible expansion of future E.M.E. educational and wellness programming.

Milestone: E.M.E. develops and begins implementation of its first structured international pilot program in Somalia.

In 2026, Empower My Education Inc. received official recognition from the Internal Revenue Service as an organization exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

E.M.E.'s federal tax-exempt status became effective July 31, 2026, and the IRS classified Empower My Education as a public charity under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).

The IRS determination also confirms that donors may deduct qualifying contributions made to Empower My Education.

This recognition represents an important milestone in E.M.E.'s development and strengthens the organization's ability to:

From expanding access to quality childcare in Austin, to reaching more than 10,000 children and families through community-based initiatives, to building relationships across communities in multiple countries, becoming an officially recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, and launching our first structured international pilot in Somalia, every stage of our history has contributed to the organization we are building today.
